Yes! We offer free standard shipping on all orders over $50. For orders under $50, standard shipping is a flat $5.95.

We process orders quickly, so please contact us within 2 hours of placing your order if you need to make changes. Once an order has shipped, we cannot cancel it, but you can return it according to our return policy.

All Marie & Carter candles are made with 100% natural soy wax. Soy wax is renewable, biodegradable, and burns cleaner and longer than paraffin wax. It also has excellent scent throw, meaning your room fills with fragrance evenly.

Yes, absolutely. We use only premium phthalate-free fragrance oils. We never use dyes, and our cotton wicks are lead-free and zinc-free. Every compound is GC-MS tested (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) for purity.

Most compounds are available in our Standard 8 oz size (40-50 hour burn time). Select formulations are available in Luxury 12 oz (60-70 hours). Our Discovery Set includes all four compounds in 2.5 oz travel sizes.

Each candle is formulated around a single clinically-studied aromatic compound: REST (linalool — promotes calm via GABA-A modulation), FOCUS (beta-pinene — enhances alertness), ENERGY (D-limonene — elevates mood via dopamine pathways), and GROUND (beta-caryophyllene — activates CB2 receptors for centering).

Our candles have a medium-to-strong scent throw that fills a room without being overwhelming. Soy wax releases fragrance more gradually than paraffin, creating a more natural and even scent experience. For the best throw, make sure to let the full melt pool form each time you burn.

That's called frosting, and it's completely normal and natural with 100% soy wax. It's actually a sign of purity — it means we haven't added any additives to the wax. It does not affect the scent or burn quality of your candle.

The most important thing is your first burn. Let the candle burn until the entire surface is liquid from edge to edge (2-4 hours). Before every burn after that, trim your wick to 1/4 inch. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. See our full Candle Care Guide for detailed tips.

Tunneling happens when the first burn wasn't long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edges. Soy wax has a "memory" — it only melts as far as it did the first time. To fix minor tunneling, try a longer burn session (3-4 hours) or wrap aluminum foil around the top to help even out the melt pool.

Yes! Our vessels are designed for a second life. Once the candle is done, clean out remaining wax with warm soapy water. Use it as a makeup brush holder, succulent planter, pen cup, or small vase. Get creative!

We want you to love your compound. If you receive a damaged or defective product, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement at no charge. Due to the nature of candles, we cannot accept returns on burned candles.

We carefully package every order, but if your candle arrives damaged, please contact us at hello@marieandcarter.com with your order number and a photo of the damage. We'll ship a replacement immediately at no cost to you.

For unburned, unused candles in their original packaging, we offer exchanges within 14 days of delivery. You'll be responsible for return shipping, and the exchange will ship once we receive the original product.
